Our Mission

It is the philosophy of McKean Veterinary Hospital to provide our clients and patients with the best possible service and highest quality veterinary care. We strive to educate our clients and empower them to make the best decisions for their beloved pets.

We promise to maintain excellent communication with our clients, provide compassionate treatment to our patients, and manage our practice ethically.
We strive for the sake of our employees and community to run a financially sound business and be a responsible resident of McKean.

Our History

McKean Veterinary Hospital began as a large animal mobile practice in 1998. Within two years, the practice expanded to serve companion animals, too. A beautiful old dairy barn was renovated for the site of this hospital

As the practice continued to grow, the veterinarians in McKean, PA, hired an award-winning architectural firm specializing in this area to design their new building. The 4,700-square-foot building opened its doors in 2013 and meets stringent standards set by the American Animal Hospital Association. The new building boasts:

  • Separate Wards for Dogs & Cats
  • 5 Exam Rooms
  • A Surgical Ward
  • Laboratory Space
  • A Dental Nook
  • Digital Radiography
  • Intensive Care & Post Op Ward

By January 2015, the former building was adapted for use by Carol Redlawsk, owner of Paws for the Good Life. Carol and her staff provide services range from home like boarding, to enrichment and exercise. The animals can receive veterinary care from McKean Veterinary Hospital while under “Paws” care.
